What the Most Popular Rides at EPCOT?

Epcot has some really awesome rides. There are not a ton of rides at Epcot but the ones they do have are very popular!

Lightening Lane Picks

7 days before you arrive you can choose which rides at Epcot you would like passes for. These will be dividing into sections. The most popular rides, you will get to choose 1. The less popular rides you can choose 2. Unfortunately, Guardians is an individual Lightening Lane meaning you have to pay extra to ride it.

Top Tier Rides

Test Track

Frozen Ever After

Ratatouille

The next most popular Lightening Lane ride at Epcot is Soarin but you can usually get that pass even on really busy days. Forget about getting a pass for tier 1 rides on busy days unless you book it ahead of time!

1. Test Track

Location: World Discovery
Height Requirement: 40″
Ride Time: ~5 minutes

Test Track is one of my favorite rides at EPCOT. I put it at the top because it is classic ride that I love. It was really hard to decide between Guardians and Test Track as to who should rank #1! Both are so good! A lot of people are not roller coaster people, so that is why I ultimately put it as #1. If you like roller coasters Guardians will be your #1!

This high-speed attraction lets you design your own vehicle before taking it for a thrilling spin, complete with sharp turns, braking tests, and an outdoor speed loop that reaches up to 65 mph. Because of its popularity, wait times can be long. It is a classic ride!

If Test Track is a must-do for your group, plan to ride it first thing in the morning. Or pick it as a Lightening Lane 7 days before you arrive at the park. It will not be available on Lightening Lane the day of if it is really busy, if it is not busy you might be able to get it.

Pro Tip: How to Avoid the Longest Lines at Test Track

  • Go at rope drop: Head straight to Test Track when EPCOT opens. This is usually the shortest wait you’ll see all day.
  • Ride late at night: Wait times often drop significantly during the final hour before park closing, if there is not a Epcot festival going on.
  • Watch for weather: Test Track can temporarily close during bad weather. If it reopens, jump in line right away when wait times are often lower.
  • Use Lightning Lane: Test Track is included with Lightening Laneand is one of the best rides to use it on due to consistently long standby waits. Book this 7 days before you arrive on your trip.

2. Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind

Location: World Discovery
Height Requirement: 42″
Ride Time: ~4 minutes

Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind is one of the newest and most popular rides at EPCOT. It is easily one of the best roller coasters Disney has ever created. I rank it under test track just because roller coasters are not for everyone.

This indoor coaster features a unique reverse launch, smooth spinning ride vehicles, and an awesome soundtrack that changes each time you ride. Because of its massive popularity, wait times can quickly get long!

If this ride is high on your must-do list, it’s worth planning your day around it. The combination of storytelling, cutting-edge technology, and thrilling coaster elements makes Cosmic Rewind feel more like a full experience than a typical ride, which is why it ranks at the very top of the best rides at EPCOT.

Pro Tip: How to Ride Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind

  • Purchase an Individual Lightning Lane: Cosmic Rewind is not included with Lighening Lane. Buying an Individual Lightning Lane is the most reliable way to guarantee a ride without waiting hours, but it is expensive.
  • Know your thrill level: This is a smooth but intense coaster. It’s not scary in a traditional sense, but it is fast, dark, and includes spinning motions. If you get motion sickness, this one might not be for you.

3. Frozen Ever After

Location: World Showcase (Norway Pavilion)
Height Requirement: None
Ride Time: ~5 minutes

Frozen Ever After is one of the most popular family-friendly rides at EPCOT and a must-do for fans of Frozen. This gentle boat ride takes you through Arendelle with familiar characters, catchy songs, and beautifully themed scenes. Because it’s a low-thrill ride with no height requirement, wait times are often over 60 minutes, especially midday.

If Frozen Ever After is high on your list, it’s best to ride it early in the morning. It’s a great option for families with younger kids and anyone looking for a classic Disney storytelling experience, which is why it consistently ranks among the best rides at EPCOT.

Pro Tip: How to Avoid the Longest Lines at Frozen Ever After

  • Head there at rope drop: Go straight to the Norway Pavilion when EPCOT opens to experience the shortest wait of the day.
  • Use Lightning Lane: Frozen Ever After is included with Lightening Lane and is one of the most popular selections, so book it as early as possible.
  • Avoid peak hours: Lines are typically longest between late morning and early evening, especially on hot days.

4. Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure

Location: World Showcase (France Pavilion)
Height Requirement: None
Ride Time: ~5 minutes

Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure is a charming, family-friendly ride at EPCOT that puts you right in the middle of Remy’s culinary world. This trackless attraction combines 3D screens, physical sets, and gentle motion as you shrink down to the size of a rat and race through a busy Paris kitchen.

Because it has no height requirement and appeals to all ages, wait times often reach 60 minutes, especially in the middle of the day.

If this ride is a priority, plan to ride it early in the morning . Its immersive theming and accessible ride style make it a favorite for families, earning it a spot among the best rides at EPCOT.

Pro Tip: How to Avoid the Longest Lines at Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure

  • Head to France at rope drop: If EPCOT opens through the World Showcase entrance, go straight to the France Pavilion for shorter waits. This is great if you are staying at Beach Club, Yacht Club, Boardwalk, or Swan and Dolphin Resorts!
  • Ride late at night: Wait times tend to drop during the last hour before park closing.
  • Use Lightning Lane: Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure is included with Lightening Lane and is a smart early selection due to consistently long standby lines.
  • Expect 3D effects: If anyone in your group is sensitive to screens or motion, take breaks between screen-heavy rides.
  • Single Rider Lane: There is a Single Rider Line.

5. Soarin Around the World

Location: The Land Pavilion
Height Requirement: 40″
Ride Time: ~5 minutes

Soarin’ Around the World soon to be Soarin Across America is a classic EPCOT attraction and a favorite for guests of all ages. This hang-gliding–style ride lifts you into the air and takes you on a breathtaking journey over famous landmarks around the globe. With its gentle motion, immersive scents, and stunning visuals, Soarin’ is both relaxing and memorable.

If Soarin’ is high on your must-do list and you have Lightening Lane don’t worry this one is and easy pass to get.

Its combination of smooth motion and iconic scenes makes it one of the best rides at EPCOT and a perfect option for families.

Pro Tip: How to Avoid the Longest Lines at Soarin’

  • Ride early or late: Lines are shortest at rope drop and during the last hour before park closing. This ride is not the most popular so you can ride this after the more popular rides and you will probably not have to wait to long. With that said this is one of the best rides at Epcot.
  • Use Lightning Lane: Soarin’ is included with Lightening Lane and is a great option to use it on. Even on busy days you should be able to get this pass late in the day.
  • Ask for the middle row: The middle section on the top row offers the most balanced view and minimizes screen distortion.
  • Mind motion sensitivity: The ride is smooth, but the flying sensation and screen movement can affect some guests.

6. The Seas with Nemo & Friends

Location: The Seas with Nemo & Friends Pavilion
Height Requirement: None
Ride Time: ~5 minutes

The Seas with Nemo & Friends is a gentle, slow-moving ride that’s perfect for families with young kids and anyone looking for a relaxing break from EPCOT’s bigger attractions.

This ride takes you through scenes inspired by Finding Nemo, blending animated characters with real aquarium views. Because it has no height requirement and is continuously loading, wait times are usually low, making it one of the easier attractions to fit into your day.

This ride is especially popular with toddlers and preschoolers and is a nice change of pace from EPCOT’s thrill rides.

Pro Tip: How to Enjoy The Seas with Nemo & Friends

  • Ride anytime: This attraction usually has manageable waits and doesn’t require rope drop or Lightning Lane.
  • Skip Lightening Lane: Lightning Lane isn’t typically necessary here; save it for higher-demand rides.
  • Explore the aquarium after: Don’t rush out — the exit leads into one of the largest aquariums in the U.S., with sharks, turtles, manatees, and more.
  • Great break ride: Use this attraction as a cool, quiet break during the hottest or busiest parts of the day.

Honorable Mentions

There are a few rides at Epcot that are fun but not at the top of the list. Most of the time these rides will have under a 5 minute wait time.

  • Living with the Land
  • Gran Fiesta Tour Starring the Three Caballeros
  • Mission Space
  • Spaceship Earth
  • Journey into Imagination with Figment

If you have younger kids all of these rides in the top 6 are great with the one exception of guardians because it will be to intense and there is a height requirement. Mission Space might be a little to intense for littles as well.
